About CFOM

Chelmsford Friends of Music was started in the early 1980's by a group of parents and teachers committed to supporting music in the public schools. The group was instrumental in supporting its inclusion in the school day. "The Arts Block," which allows students to take music performance classes each day, is responsible for the huge success of Chelmsford's band, chorus and orchestra at both the middle and high school levels. Over the years, the Chelmsford orchestras, choral and band groups have achieved distinction at district and statewide competitions and festivals. Our orchestra has received a Gold Medal at the MICCA competition and has been invited to play at Tanglewood and Symphony Hall.

Over the past 20 years, the Friends of Music has evolved and grown into community volunteer organization that assists our school music program at all levels and in a variety of ways. CFOM is a spirited and supportive community organization which fosters excellence, excitement and enjoyment for students involved in the Chelmsford Music Program.
