College Scholarships

CFoM College Scholarship

CFoM College Scholarships are awarded to CHS graduating seniors who will be attending a 4-year or 2-year institution and plan to Major or Minor in Music in college.

  • Scholarships are awarded each year at the CHS Spring Pops Concert. Those not in attendance will be notified individually.
  • The number and value of the awards will be based upon the availability of funds and number of applicants.
  • All decisions of the CFoM Scholarship Committee will be final.
  • The application can be found in the “Documents” tab.

Eligibility Requirements

  • The applicant must be currently enrolled in the Chelmsford Public School System and be an active member in one of the graded performance band, chorus or orchestra programs offered by the Chelmsford School System.
  • The applicant must have performed a minimum of 10 hours of documented volunteer service to CFoM prior to the date of this application. Inquiries regarding volunteer hours or any other questions can be sent to chelmsfordfriendsofmusic@gmail.com

  • The deadline to submit the 2023 application is May 1, 2023.

Caleb Flores College Scholarship

The Caleb Flores College Scholarships are awarded to CHS graduating seniors who will be attending a 4-year or 2-year institution for whom music has played an important role.

  • Scholarships are awarded each year at the CHS Spring Pops Concert. Those not in attendance will be notified individually. Should there be no Spring Pops Concert, alternative means of award will be implemented.
  • The number and value of the awards will be based upon the availability of funds and number of applicants.
  • All decisions of the CFoM Scholarship Committee will be final.

Eligibility Requirements

  • The applicant must be currently enrolled in the Chelmsford Public School System and be an active member in one of the graded performance band, chorus or orchestra programs offered by the Chelmsford School System.
  • The application and all documents are due by Monday, May 1, 2023 to be eligible for consideration.

Camp Scholarships

Camp scholarships are awarded to middle and high school students attending Music Summer Camp. THIS INCLUDES VIRTUAL CAMPS! These awards are meant to assist, not totally cover, the cost of tuition for a summer music camp. Programs from past years include UML Mary Jo Leahey Symphonic Band camp and UNH Summer Youth Music School, and Salve Regina Jazz Camp at Newport.

  • Scholarships are presented each year at the CHS Spring Pops Concert or the student’s Middle School Spring Concert. Those not in attendance will be notified individually.
  • The number and value of the awards will be based upon the availability of funds and number of applicants.
  • All decisions of the CFoM Scholarship Committee will be final.

Eligibility Requirements

  • The applicant must be currently enrolled in the Chelmsford Public School System and be an active member in one of the graded music programs offered by the Chelmsford School System. Examples include: Band, Chorus, or Orchestra.
  • The applicant must have performed a minimum of 4 hours of documented volunteer service to CFoM.

  • Deadline for 2023 applications is May 1, 2023.

Music Jacket Info for Students and Parents

  • In order to qualify for a jacket, students must be in their 3rd or 4th year in a graded music performance program have volunteered 10 hours for CFOM while in high school.
    • Inquiries regarding volunteer hours or any other questions should be sent to chelmsfordfriendsofmusic@gmail.com. Please send inquiries at least one week prior to the application deadline.
  • Students can earn both a varsity and a music jacket. 
  • Students must turn in a jacket application by the deadline to be eligible for consideration
  • Service hours can also apply for the scholarship requirements, NHS, college applications, etc. 
  • This application is due by Friday, January 13, 2023 to be eligible for this consideration.
